Standard Chartered Bank names Sanjay Gurjar as Co-Head, Client Coverage in India & South Asia

In a strategic move to strengthen its Corporate, Commercial, and Institutional Banking (CCIB) division in India and South Asia, Standard Chartered Bank has named Sanjay Gurjar as the Co-Head, Client Coverage. This crucial role will encompass overseeing Local Corporates & Middle Markets across India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Nepal.

Gurjar brings with him a wealth of experience, having spent over 27 years with Standard Chartered in various key roles within Corporate and Institutional Banking. Prior to this appointment, he served as the Managing Director & Head, Banks & Broker Dealers (BBD), ASEAN, and as the Head of Financial Institutions (FI) in Singapore.

Throughout his extensive career, Gurjar has showcased proficiency in operations, transaction banking product and sales, credit assessment, relationship management, and investment banking. His focus on driving transformational performance has been evident in his previous assignments, where he played instrumental roles in shaping the FI business in India & South Asia and driving strong growth in Transaction Banking for India & Nepal.

Over the last two and a half years, Gurjar has been based in Singapore, spearheading a strategic shift and robust growth in the ASEAN BBD business. His efforts were also dedicated to building a formidable FI team, reflecting his commitment to fostering excellence in financial institutions.
