V Srinivasan to quit Axis Bank as Deputy MD in December

V Srinivasan, Deputy Managing Director of Axis Bank, will be resigning from his position after completion of his three-year term that comes to an end in December, said sources.

v-srinivasanHe has been associated with the bank for over nine years and for the last three years serving as the second in command to Chief Executive Shikha Sharma.

“His contract comes to an end in December and he would opt to end there,” said one person familiar to the development.

Srinivasan joined the private lender in 2009 after Sharma became the CEO succeeding PJ Nayak.

He has done his MBA from IIM Kolkata and started his career with ICICI in 1990, a developmental financial institution then.

He then moved to ICICI Securities when the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) granted it a primary dealer licence.

At ICICI, he led the building of bonds team. He then left ICICI after ICICI-JP Morgan JV split in the late 1990s.
