Vouch Raises $500K Pre-Seed from Y Combinator to Build an AI Wealth Manager for Indian Families

Vouch, an AI-native wealth management startup founded by former Robinhood product lead Arnav Ghatiwala, has raised $500,000 in pre-seed funding from Y Combinator and plans to launch its app in November 2026, subject to regulatory licensing.

Vouch, an AI-native wealth management startup building for Indian households, has raised $500,000 in pre-seed funding from Y Combinator. The company, part of YC’s Fall 2026 batch, wants to give middle-class Indian families the kind of personalised financial guidance that has traditionally been reserved for high-net-worth clients of private banks and wealth desks.

The round was reported on 27 October 2026. Vouch is led by founder and CEO Arnav Ghatiwala, a former product lead at Robinhood who, according to his YC profile, was the youngest product manager at the US brokerage to own a product line and led the zero-to-one build of its Advisor Network. He has also worked on trading engine optimisation and operations at quantitative trading firm Jane Street.

How the platform is meant to work

Vouch is designed to sit on top of the investments a user already holds rather than ask them to start from scratch. The proposed flow is:

  • Connect existing portfolios so the platform has a single view of a family’s holdings;
  • Capture financial goals such as retirement, education or a home purchase;
  • Optimise investments and tax outcomes using AI, from fund selection to reducing the annual tax bill; and
  • Keep human experts in the loop for key decisions, rather than leaving advice entirely to an algorithm.

The startup’s stated ambition is to become the one platform Indians use to manage all of their money.

Why the timing matters

Vouch is betting on the rapid financialisation of Indian household savings. Citing Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) data, the company points to monthly systematic investment plan (SIP) inflows of nearly US$4.35 billion and mutual fund assets under management that have grown about 2.4 times in five years to roughly US$1.16 trillion. Its YC profile adds that India is projected to add $2.37 trillion in financial wealth by 2030, even though fewer than one in ten Indians invest today and physical assets such as gold and real estate still dominate household balance sheets.

Ghatiwala, a computer science graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, has said the idea grew out of his own frustration managing investments in India while working in the United States.

Licensing is the next milestone

Vouch plans to launch its app in November 2026, subject to regulatory licensing, an approval that is still outstanding. That step will be central to the model: personalised investment advice in India falls under SEBI’s investment adviser framework, and platforms that combine portfolio aggregation, recommendations and execution have to navigate rules on advice, distribution and data access.

A crowded but well-funded wealthtech field

The raise adds to a steady flow of capital into Indian wealthtech. AI-native wealth manager CREST raised $3.1 million at pre-seed in June, PowerUp Money has raised $7.1 million, and later-stage players continue to attract larger cheques. For Vouch, the YC backing provides early credibility, but customer traction, trust and its regulatory approach are likely to decide whether it can stand out in a market where banks, brokers and large fintech apps are all racing to own the investor relationship.
