Paying bills online will no longer remain a hassle for you if you are an Amazon user and have an Amazon Pay account. Yes, you can now ask Alexa to pay your bill just by speaking to her.
Announcing this latest feature, e-commerce giant Amazon said that its users in India can now pay their utility bills with Amazon Pay just by speaking to Alexa.
This new Alexa feature supports payment of bills across categories such as electricity, water, post-paid mobile, cooking gas, broadband, DTH and more. Users of Amazon Echo, Fire TV Stick and other devices with Alexa built-in can just say commands such as “Alexa, pay my mobile bill” or “Alexa, pay my electricity bill” to use the feature.
For existing Amazon Pay users, Alexa will fetch the amount due for bills from their registered Amazon account and verify with the customer for his confirmation before processing the payment.
Customers will have to enable a voice pin on the Alexa app in a bid to make the transactions more secure. After approved, Alexa will complete the transaction using Amazon Pay, and send a notification to the customer’s registered mobile phone number, confirming the completion of the transaction.
For new Amazon Pay customers, Alexa will be sending a link to register their bill details on the Amazon shopping app before proceeding with bill payment.
Moreover, customers can ask “Alexa, what’s my balance?” to know the amount available for purchases in their Amazon Pay wallet.
For recharging their Amazon Pay account say “Alexa, add Rs 500 to my Amazon Pay balance” and Alexa will send a link to the registered mobile phone to complete the transaction.
Amazon Pay provides an array of payment facilities on one platform. This new feature on Alexa will further help in reducing payment friction as customers will be able to complete their payment transactions with just their voice command. Amazon Pay also offers various cashbacks and EMI options, which enable its customers a purchasing power at the lowest possible cost.
