India’s largest public sector lender the State Bank of India (SBI) has appointed Prashant Kumar as its new Deputy Managing Director (MD) and Chief Financial Officer.
Prior to this, Kumar was appointed as the Deputy Managing Director – Human Resource and Corporate Development Officer. He takes over the position from Anshula Kant, who has now been elevated to the position of MD of the bank.
He holds more than three decades experience in the fields of credit, human resources and training systems at the bank. He joined SBI as a probationary officer in 1983. Kumar had also served as the Chief General Manager of the bank’s Kolkata Circle as well as the Mumbai Circle.
Kumar has been a pivotal part of the tectonic changes in business levels and performance of the bank, as stated by SBI’s website. He is a graduate in Science and Law from Delhi University.
