Chat messenger WhatsApp is soon going to launch dark mode option for Android and iOS users. This feature will help the users in saving their battery consumption and an apt option to use the app in night time without hurting the eyes or disturbing others.
According to a tweet by WABetaInfo, a popular source on upcoming features on WhatsApp, dark mode is still under development. It had earlier reported the news on this feature when it discovered some alpha code in the latest WhatsApp version that hinted at Dark mode.
“I receive a lot of questions about the Dark Mode…It’s still under development and there is no news now, be patient, please. When there is news on iOS and Android, you will obviously receive more info from me, don’t worry,” WABetaInfo said in a tweet last week.
Search engine giant Google had earlier revealed that dark mode helps in extending the battery life of a smartphone. It says that the colours used in the app gave a direct impact on the phone’s battery life and using bright colours will drain the battery soon.
Social network Facebook had already launched the dark mode for its messenger. Earlier this year, YouTube rolled out this feature for its Android version.
