Vishal Anand Kanvaty is named as the Chief Technology Officer of the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).
Kanvaty will be in charge of new-age technology and will be accountable for NPCI’s transformational journey in his new post.
Kanvaty previously managed the portfolio of Chief Market Innovation at NPCI and has over two decades of professional expertise. He joined NPCI in 2017 and previously oversaw Product and Innovations profiles.
He has proven thought leadership in new uses of technology to business process automation and has operational expertise launching several credit card, e-commerce, and mobile banking products, according to NPCI. He also has experience in financial inclusion and has led the strategy and implementation of several products such as M-POS/mobile wallet.

Kanvaty holds a Bachelor of Technology degree from JNTU, Hyderabad, and is also an IIM Ahmedabad graduate.
