Mumbai: Sarvam AI has partnered with SBI Life Insurance Co. Ltd. to roll out advanced artificial intelligence solutions across the insurer’s extensive distribution network, which serves more than 8 crore customers and 3.5 lakh distributors across India.
The partnership is aimed at taking AI beyond experimentation and embedding it into full-scale operational workflows. The deployment will leverage Sarvam’s Samvaad conversational AI platform and its Arya multi-agent orchestration system to enable seamless automation across customer servicing and agent support functions. Through this initiative, SBI Life will introduce voice-based policy servicing in 11 Indian languages, enabling customers from diverse linguistic backgrounds to access instant assistance. A multilingual AI-powered claim bot will further streamline claims-related interactions, while an AI co-pilot will assist agents in handling customer queries more efficiently.
The system is designed to process complex requests and verify documents across multiple Indian scripts, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility for customers regardless of their language preference or level of digital literacy. By integrating AI into core operations, SBI Life aims to enhance responsiveness, reduce turnaround times, and strengthen engagement across its nationwide footprint.

Commenting on the development, Vivek Raghavan emphasized that the goal is to ensure every SBI Life policyholder can have their questions answered instantly through a culturally fluent and user-friendly AI voice interface. The nationwide rollout of the AI solutions is targeted for completion by August 2026.
The collaboration underscores the growing momentum of AI-led transformation within India’s insurance sector, where multilingual capabilities and scalable automation are becoming critical to delivering inclusive and efficient customer experiences.
