Telecom giant Bharti Airtel has appointed Nakul Sehgal as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Prior to this appointment, Sehgal was the associated with Telenor’s Malaysian unit.
In his new role, he will now be handling fund raising of the company and Airtel Africa IPO.
He will be reporting to Bharti Airtel Chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal.
“Over the years, Bharti has always attracted the best of talent from across industry verticals and geographies. I am confident that Nakul’s vast experience within the financial and commercial domain will add value to the group,” said Mittal.
Sehgal will be the key interface between the corporate office and operations. He will be leading the investor relations and group taxation functions, monitor investments across the geographies and work closely with both Airtel India and Airtel Africa, said the official communiqué.
He will closely work with Airtel Africa initial public offer (IPO) and fund raising at Airtel India, added the announcement.
He is a Chartered Accountant from ICAI and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) from State Board of Colorado USA. Sehgal holds more than 17 years of international professional experience.
He was earlier associated with with the Telenor Group for more than eight years, handling senior level positions across geographies including India.
He was the CFO at Digi.com Berhad- a subsidiary of Norwegian firm Telenor in Malaysia, in his previous role.
