Amey Joshi, Enterprise Pre-Sales Consultant, Commvault India & South Asia talked about modernisation of the data protection in your cloud at the BFSI Leadership Summit 2022, organised by Elets Technomedia.
He stated that with newer priorities we could see upcoming challenges, where Data is getting spread everywhere across the data centres, seeing the challenges which could be the endpoints for your data centres.
While the information is being spread, the risk of cyber attackers surfacing in more areas on the web goes up. “In the recent report, we have seen some shocking figures. Almost 400 per cent of cybercrime has gone up in the last few years”, he averred. He further stated, “that’s why we see your data is not to be just protected but it should also be secured on the cloud”. With time, the spread of data is also increasing and wherever you go your data becomes your responsibility. Be it your premise, be it the cloud, nobody is going to take responsibility for your data. He further added.
He stated that information is partly on-premise, partly on the cloud, and you need a single platform that can traverse across all these planes, and Commvault can offer you that platform and that is what Commvault is trying to establish.
He also described that companies are adopting multiple clouds because not a single cloud could address all the requirements. So multi-cloud is a place where you have some portion on-premise and some portion on Azure or Google, etc,
“One of the peers in the banking industry, AU small finance bank, had a pressing target due to their change in the banking platform and they have to move an enormous amount of data to back it up to recover to newer platforms. They chose Commvault for doing that and we involved our solution named hyper-scale”, he concluded.
