EQBAC launches USD model portfolios for Indian wealth through GIFT City

EQBAC

EQBAC has introduced USD-denominated model portfolios for Indian and NRI investors through GIFT City, Gandhinagar, India’s premier International Financial Services Centre (IFSC). The new offering includes two distinct risk-based options: aggressive and moderate portfolios, enabling investors to participate in diverse global markets according to their risk appetite.

EQBAC’s platform simplifies access for resident Indians to USD-denominated assets such as global equities, ETFs, and bonds, with higher investment limits and easier onboarding compared to the traditional Liberalised Remittance Scheme. The aggressive model portfolio adopts a growth-focused approach, allocating 95% to 100% to equities, encompassing U.S. large-cap stocks, technology, artificial intelligence, semiconductor companies, small caps, China, and European markets. A marginal allocation to gold is maintained as a strategic hedge against potential market fluctuations.

Alternatively, the moderate portfolio emphasises stability, investing 50% to 70% in fixed income instruments and commodities, such as U.S. Treasuries, arbitrage funds, and gold, with the remainder diversified across equities spanning the U.S., Europe, China, and global opportunity funds. The higher gold component in this portfolio offers investors an added buffer for long-term wealth preservation.

EQBAC’s innovative portfolio construction combines fast-growing sectors like technology, AI, and semiconductors with resilient assets, including gold and U.S. government bonds. This hybrid strategy is designed to deliver both returns and portfolio stability, allowing Indian investors to diversify their wealth internationally while adhering to regulatory and tax-compliant standards through GIFT City. GIFT City’s framework provides additional benefits, including zero GST on offshore transactions and income tax exemptions for eligible units, under full oversight by the IFSCA.
