With the Union budget to be announced soon, the Finance Ministry has started a quiz series on Twitter to build interest amongst the general public.
Today’s question posted by the ministry is: ______ is the most comprehensive report of the Govt’s finances in which revenues from all sources & outlays for all activities are consolidated. It also contains estimates of the Govt’s accounts for the next fiscal year called Budgeted Estimates.
The first question posed was: ‘When was the First General Budget of Independent India presented?’
The ministry gave 4 options to Twitter users to vote.
“Now that our General Budget 2019-20 is around the corner, it would be a good time to refresh our knowledge about it. Today we start with our first question. Let’s see how many of us get it right,” the ministry tweeted.
The full budget for 2019-20 will be presented in Parliament by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on July 5.
