HDFC Bank’s board of directors has named Sumant Rampal’s as the Group Head- Mortgage Business with immediate effect, succeeding Arvind Kapil.
The lender stated that the approval was based on the nomination and remuneration committee’s recommendation.
Sumant Rampal has been with the bank for over 24 years, working in a variety of business categories including corporate banking, developing corporate group, and business banking.
Rampal served as the Group Head of Business Banking Working Capital, Rural Banking Group, and the Sustainability Livelihood Initiative.
Rampal made important contributions in his capacity, helping to scale the firm and deliver on key digital initiatives, according to the financial institution. Rampal earned his post-graduate degree from the Symbiosis Institute of International Business in 1997.
