Infosys appoints Nilanjan Roy as its new CFO

Infosys has appointed Nilanjan Roy, former global Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of telecom giant Bharti Airtel Ltd, as its new CFO.

Nilanjan RoyRoy will be joining the Bengaluru-headquartered Infosys on March 1, 2019. In its official communiqué, the technology services and consulting firm announced that the board of directors has appointed Roy as the CFO and the decision will come into effect from March 1 next year.

He worked with Bharti Airtel for around 13 years and spent 15 years in Unilever handling its global operations. He holds a Bachelor degree in Commerce from the University of Delhi. He is also a Chartered Accountant.

“He comes to us with extensive and rich global experience. We would like to express our deep appreciation to Jayesh Sanghrajka for taking charge as interim CFO and thank him for ably executing this very important responsibility,” Salil Parekh, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Infosys.

Last month, the company appointed Jayesh Sanghrajka as its interim CFO. He was also one among the contenders for the role of Infosys CFO. Jayesh will be resuming the responsibilities of the deputy CFO from March 1, 2019.

He spent more than 13 years in Infosys over two tenures. He has also performed various leadership roles in the finance industry.

M D Ranganath, the former CFO decided to submit his resignation for pursuing other professional aspirations. He resigned from his position on November 16, 2018.
