Former Chief General Manager of Union Bank of India, Ishraq Ali Khan has taken charge as Executive Director (ED) of Public Sector Lender UCO Bank.
His position was elevated along with 14 other major reshuffles across the Public Sector Banks. Khan joined the bank on March 10, stated UCO Bank in a statement.
In its statement, after joining the bank, Khan said thatit is only a matter of time that UCO Bank is able to turn the corner and show encouraging results in the days to come, much to the delight of all the stakeholders.
He holds more than three decades of experience in the banking sector where he took several roles across the country at different locations and was the key force behind the information technology initiatives of Union Bank.
Recently, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has cleared the promotion of 14 Chief General Managers/ General Managers to the post of Executive Director in several public sector banks (PSBs).
This development is initiated nearly six months after the Banks Board Bureau had recommended 13 names to be named as EDs in various banks.
