JPMorgan appoints former Reliance M&A executive as India investment banking head

JPMorgan Chase & Co named Navin Wadhwani, a former Reliance Industries executive, as the head of its Indian investment banking division, as part of a spate of management changes for the Asia-Pacific region.

For the past ten years, Wadhwani has led M&A for the oil-to-retail giant Reliance, and he was previously a senior managing director at Rothschild India.

JPM also named Kaustubh Kulkarni as the senior country officer for India, effective November 1. He will continue to serve as Asia Pacific vice chair. Kulkarni follows Madhav Kalyan, who will now lead the Asia Pacific Payments division of the US banking behemoth.

Vineet Mishra will take over as the sole head of Investment Banking in Southeast Asia.

PD Singh, JPM’s current head of corporate banking in India, has been named temporary CEO of JP Morgan Chase Bank India, effective November 1.
