Karta, an agentic voice artificial intelligence (AI) company focused on inbound customer operations, has raised $3 million in a funding round co-led by Cedar Hill Capital and PeerCapital. The round also saw participation from WYSER – Pioneering Agentic AI Venture Fund, CDM Capital and Seedstars.
The investment will support Karta’s efforts to develop its voice AI technology for financial institutions, including banks, lenders, fintech companies and insurers. The company focuses on automating inbound customer conversations, helping institutions resolve queries and manage complex customer requests more efficiently.
According to Cedar Hill Capital, inbound customer query handling remains a significant cost centre for financial institutions, while unresolved requests can create friction for customers. Traditional voice AI solutions have largely focused on outbound calls, where the purpose of the interaction is already established. Karta aims to address the more complex requirements of inbound conversations, where customer intent must be identified and resolved during the interaction.
The company’s platform uses multi-intent agentic voice AI to understand customer queries within a single conversation, connect with an institution’s existing systems and handle complex Level 2 and Level 3 support cases from beginning to end.
Cedar Hill Capital highlighted Karta’s deployment at a leading home loan company, where the platform reportedly handles around two million customer conversations every month across more than 25 languages. Approximately 70% of borrower queries are resolved end-to-end, reducing service costs by roughly 50%, according to the investor.
The funding comes as financial institutions increasingly explore AI-driven customer service and automation to improve operational efficiency, reduce servicing costs and deliver more responsive customer experiences.
