Market size of e-Security expected to reach $1.5-2 billion by 2022: Pramoud Rao, MD, Zicom Electronic Security Systems Ltd

In the last five years, the electronic security industry witnessed a growth of 30 to 35 percent. Serving the BFSI sector in this domain, Zicom has secured ATMs and branches of leading Public Sector Banks & Private sector banks like PNB, SBI, Bank of Baroda, Kotak Mahindra Bank, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Federal Bank, India Infoline & Manappuram Finance Ltd and many more, said Pramoud Rao, Managing Director, Zicom Electronic Security Systems Ltd, in an interview with Elets News Network (ENN).

  1. How significant is electronic security in the Indian context?

In the last five years, the electronic security industry witnessed a growth of 30 to 35 percent. Today e-security needs no introduction. Secured home, community and environment is no more a fiction due to technological innovations in the electronics security domain.

With rising urbanisation and crime rate, there is an increasing demand for e-security and therefore the market size has now grown to almost a billion-dollar and we expect by 2022 the market size would be at least 1.5-2 billion dollar.

Smart cities and large infrastructure projects are now adopting electronics security and these drivers would continue to propel the industry.
