Over 8 lakh people win Rs 133 crore under NITI Aayog’s digital payment scheme

More than 8 lakh people win Rs 133 crore under NITI Aayog’s digital payment scheme in the last 50 days.

Acknowledging the fact, NITI Aayog in its recent tweet said,”It’s 50 days of our #DigiDhanMelas and over 8 lakh people have won Rs 133 crore already! 50 more days to go.”

The two schemes namely, Lucky Grahak Yojna (LGY) and Digi-Dhan Vyapar Yojna (DVY)- were launched on December 25 last year and shall remain open till April 14, 2017.The Central Government launched these schemes for consumers and merchants as part of its initiatives to encourage use of digital payments.

While Lucky Grahak Yojna is  rewarding consumers through daily and weekly draws on transactions worth Rs 50 to Rs 3,000 with maximum reward up to Rs 1 lakh, Digi Dhan Yojna, aimed at merchants, would have a maximum reward of Rs 50,000.
