Digital payments platform PhonePe has joined hands with Goibibo to offer in-app hotel booking and payments services. PhonePe is owned by e-commerce giant Flipkart.
As per the joint venture, users would be able to book hotels and make payments, all at the same time via PhonePe.
Goibibo will be offering a Hotel’s microapp on PhonePe’s application, in a bid to enable transactions. With the help of this microapp, users will have the experience of using Goibibo like app on PhonePe, while booking hotels.
In addition to making payments, users will be able to avail cancellation and refund options in the micro-app.
This partnership will allow PhonePe to get to offer its users the vast list of Goibibo domestic hotels and homestays, including Goibibo certified goStays and international hotels.
“PhonePe has taken a unique approach to solve digital payments, and their open ecosystem allows us to build the Goibibo experience into their app and engage with a wider user base on their platform,” said Sanjay Bhasin, COO, Goibibo.
The payments brand claims to have a user base of 100 million and has tie-ups with several leading brands namely RedBus, Mumbai Metro and most recently Ola Cabs. Last week the brand entered into a partnership with Ola Cabs where users were allowed to book an Ola through the PhonePe app.
