Piramal Enterprise, on October 8, appointed Jairam Sridharan as the new managing director (MD) of DHFL.
Prior to his joining Piramal Group, Jairam was associated with Axis Bank handling several responsibilities. He was earlier appointed as the President, Retail Lending & Payments at Axis Bank and was given the responsiblity for driving growth in the retail lending and payments businesses comprising retail lending products (home, car, personal & other loans), cards business (credit, debit & prepaid) and the agriculture & rural lending business.
He was also associated with Capital One Financial, a consumer bank based in Richmond, VA (USA) as Head – ‘New to Credit’ Card Acquisitions in the US Cards Business.

Jairam holds a Bachelor degree in Technology for Chemical Engineering from IIT Delhi and Post Graduate Diploma in Management from IIM Kolkata where he was awarded a Roll of Honour for academic excellence.
