Piramal Enterprises Limited has named Jairam Sridharan as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of its Consumer Finance Business.
Jairam holds more than two decades of dense expertise around domestic and international retail finance. Prior to this appointment, he was associated with Axis Bank as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and raised over $1.8 Billion, the largest private equity infusion in banking at the time, and supervised the finance, strategy, M&A and investor relations functions.
Earlier, as the President of retail lending and payments at Axis Bank, where he ensured the transformation of Axis into a retail bank growing the book six times in five years.
During his presence at Axis, the bank emerged as one of the top five retail lending institutions in India. Before joining Axis Bank, Jairam was associated with Capital One Financial, one of America’s most pioneering tech-enabled consumer banks, as Head of their ‘New to Credit’ card acquisitions. He began his career with ICICI Bank, where he headed their ‘business intelligence unit’ and helped to develop the analytical capabilities of the lender.

Jairam holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Chemical Engineering from IIT Delhi and Post Graduate Diploma in Management from IIM Kolkata where he was awarded a Roll of Honour for academic excellence.
