Reserve Bank Innovation Hub (RBIH) has launched DesignShaala™, an initiative aimed at promoting financial innovation through Human-Centered Design (HCD). The program was launched by Nandan Nilekani, Chairman and Co-Founder of Infosys, during the ‘Building for Billions’ event in Bengaluru.
DesignShaala™ is designed to ensure financial solutions are built around real user needs, behaviors, and experiences, making finance more intuitive, inclusive, and impactful. The initiative aims to empower financial innovators to develop solutions that go beyond functionality and deliver truly transformative user experiences.
RBIH envisions DesignShaala™ as a movement toward rethinking financial services with a people-first approach. By embedding HCD principles, the initiative seeks to improve accessibility, usability, and financial literacy while driving digital financial inclusion.
As a flagship initiative of RBIH, DesignShaala™ underscores the organisation’s commitment to encouraging financial solutions aligned with human aspirations. It is set to equip fintech startups, financial institutions, and other stakeholders with the knowledge and resources needed to design with empathy and precision.
