The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has appointed Neeraj Nigam as Executive Director, effective immediately, according to a press release issued by the central bank on Monday.
Nigam will be in charge of many departments in his new position, including Consumer Education and Protection, Financial Inclusion and Development, Legal, and Secretary.
Nigam was the head of the RBI’s Bhopal Regional Office before being promoted to ED.
Neeraj Nigam has spent more than 30 years at the RBI, working in departments such as Regulation and Supervision, Human Resource Management, Premises, Currency Management, and Bank Accounts. He has worked in both the Central Office and Regional Offices of the RBI.
Nigam has a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Barkatullah University in Bhopal, in addition to his significant expertise.
He also holds the professional designation of Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (CAIIB).
