Senior bureaucrat Saurabh Garg has been named as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). This development is made as part of the bureaucratic reshuffle announced by the Centre on Thursday.
At present, Garg is serving in his cadre state Odisha. He is a 1991 batch IAS officer.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has received its final nod on the appointment of Garg as the CEO, UIDAI in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary, sated an order generated by the Personnel Ministry said.

Prior to Garg, Ajay Bhushan Pandey was the CEO of UIDAI. On March 3, 2020, Pandey was named as the new Finance Secretary by the centre.
Pandey, a 1984 batch IAS officer from the Maharashtra cadre spent nine years at UIDAI.
