Software services exporter Wipro Ltd has named Thierry Delaporte as its new chief executive officer and managing director. As per the company’s official communiqué, the appointment will come into effect from July 6.
Prior to this appointment, Delaporte was associated with Capgemini group as its chief operating and a member of its group executive board.
At Wipro, Delaporte will be replacing Abidali Z Neemuchwala, who decided to call it a quits in January.

During his 25 years of association with Capgemini, he had undertaken several excutive level positions such as the Chief Executive Officer of the Global Financial Services Strategic Business Unit, and head of all global service lines. Besides, he supervised Capgemini’s lndia operations, and led the group’s transformation vision, ideating and driving several strategic programmes around various business units.
