Federal Bank has announced the appointment of KVS Manian as its new Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, effective September 23, 2024, after the approval from the Reserve Bank of India. Manian will succeed Shyam Srinivasan, who is stepping down after an impressive 14-year tenure.
The transition will take place on September 23, 2024, following the conclusion of Srinivasan’s term on September 22, 2024. Federal Bank communicated this significant change to the stock exchanges, marking a new chapter in the bank’s leadership.

Manian brings a wealth of experience to his new role, serving as the Joint Managing Director of Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited until April 30, 2024. While at Kotak Mahindra Bank, he played a pivotal role in developing a robust and profitable franchise across various business segments. His efforts in enhancing technological capabilities and establishing strong transaction banking services have been particularly noteworthy.
Before his role at Kotak Mahindra Bank, Manian was involved in the NBFC sector (previously known as Kotak Mahindra Finance Ltd) and investment banking. His academic credentials include a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) – Varanasi, a Post Graduate degree in Financial Management from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai, and he is also a Cost and Works Accountant.
With this appointment, Federal Bank is poised to continue its growth trajectory under Manian’s leadership, leveraging his extensive experience in banking and finance.
