PaySprint Private Limited, the New Delhi-based B2B banking fintech and regtech infrastructure company, on 6 November 2026 made PIX, the conversational AI agent built into its multi-gateway payment orchestration platform SprintPGx, live for all enterprise merchants. Arriving three months after SprintPGx launched, PIX lets businesses set payment routing rules and diagnose failed transactions by typing plain-language instructions.
The rollout is timed for the festive and year-end sale season, when a single slow gateway can turn willing buyers into lost orders. PaySprint is also waiving the SprintPGx platform fee for eligible new enterprise merchants during the offer period. The move comes a day after Cashfree opened its hosted checkout to AI shopping agents, a sign that agentic AI is moving into the operational core of Indian payments.
What the PaySprint PIX AI agent does
SprintPGx sits between a merchant’s checkout and several connected payment gateways, including Razorpay, PayU, Cashfree, PhonePe and Paytm PG. According to the company, it routes each transaction in under 80 milliseconds to the gateway most likely to approve it and switches automatically if that gateway fails. Until now, changing routing rules needed engineers or a vendor ticket; PIX turns it into a typed conversation. PaySprint says the agent can:
- Write and apply routing rules from instructions such as “send all transactions above Rs 10,000 on credit cards to whichever gateway has the highest success rate today” or “move all transactions to the lowest cost gateway after 11 pm”.
- Read the error code on a failed transaction and explain what went wrong and what to do next.
- Recommend the best-performing gateway for each card and bank combination, based on live success rates.
- Flag a gateway whose health is slipping before it turns into failed payments.
The platform supports Priority, Load Balance and AI-powered Advanced Routing modes, and PIX can recommend which mode a merchant should use. Details are on the official SprintPGx product page.
What the PaySprint founder said
“The festive season is when a payment stack is really tested, and it is also when a merchant can least afford to wait for an engineer to change a routing rule. With PIX we have taken the operator’s intent and made it the interface,” said S. Anand, Founder and CEO, PaySprint, in the company’s announcement. He added that the company is opening PIX to every enterprise this quarter without a platform fee “because the cost of a failed payment during a sale is far higher than the cost of fixing it.”
Scale, compliance and the festive offer
PaySprint says SprintPGx can handle more than 35,000 transactions per second and is certified under ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type II and PCI DSS. A unified dashboard covers transactions, settlements, refunds and reports across gateways, and the company says automated reconciliation cuts finance teams’ reconciliation effort by up to three times.
Under the festive offer, eligible new merchants get a 0% platform fee on qualifying sales of up to ₹15 lakh during the offer period, with standard fees beyond that limit, subject to PaySprint’s terms.
Why payment orchestration matters for Indian enterprises
Enterprises that depend on a single gateway carry real revenue risk during peak sales. Orchestration layers spread that risk across providers, a segment where players such as Juspay have raised significant capital. Putting routing control in plain language also echoes Cashfree’s Relay AI super agents for payment operations. For PaySprint, which recently launched the SprintSign Aadhaar eSign platform for banks and NBFCs, PIX extends a product suite that spans connected banking, verification, escrow and contract management.
