Opposing the much talked about Walmart-Flipkart deal, Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has approached the Competition Commission of India (CCI). Stating that the deal will give rise to unfair competition and disparity among level playing field for domestic players, the traders body approached CCI.
The deal will hinder the market access to non-preferred sellers and jam small traders on offline platform.
In its official communique, the confederation mentioned that it has “filed its objection petition in CCI against the Walmart-Flipkart deal’’.
“The merger of two companies will create an unfair competition and uneven level playing field and will indulge in predatory pricing, deep discounts and loss funding,” it said.
Walmart revealed that it would either sell off all its inventory to flipkart.com, either directly or via web connected preferred sellers.
