Bengaluru: Showcasing high potential healthcare initiatives for transforming healthcare service delivery in Karnataka to ensure “Health for All”, Elets Healthcare Summit Karnataka was inaugurated by KR Ramesh Kumar, Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka, in Bengaluru on Tuesday. KK Shailaja Teacher, Health Minister of Kerala, also graced the inaugural session of the summit.Organised jointly by the Department of Health, Karnataka and National Health Mission (NHM) Karnataka, in association with Elets Technomedia Pvt Ltd, the day-long summit saw discussions on various aspects of quality healthcare delivery including the significance of PPP model, role of Self Help Groups and the important role being played by ICT in healthcare to make delivery of quality health services more inclusive.
The summit, which was attended by senior officials from the Government of India, various State governments and international agencies like UNDP and World Bank, concurrently showcased stellar innovations in healthcare products and services.
Elets Healthcare Summit Karnataka also saw a strong participation from the industry. The summit brought together policymakers and industry leaders under one roof to discuss and deliberate upon various issues and challenges related to the healthcare ecosystem in the country.
Rani Desai, Head-Biocon Foundation; Jayshree Thacker, President of PerkinElmer; and TL Alamelu, Director and GM of New India Assurance Company were among those felicitated with Special Leadership Awards for their contribution in health sector. HSCC (India) Ltd, a Public Scector Undertaking (PSU) under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, was also presented with the PSU Leadership Award.
