Digital wallet brand Paytm is receiving increased adoption of e-payments by its users and merchants located in villages and smaller towns as compared to metros.
The brand claims to have its presence across three lakh villages, where it has unveiled digital transactions through its smartphone app and QR code solution. Paytm also reveals that around 30 lakh merchants accepting digital payments in small towns.
The firm has listed that it has 20 per cent higher adoption in areas such as Chitradurga in Karnataka, Angul in Odisha, Unnao in Uttar Pradesh and Kangra in Himachal Pradesh as compared to metro cities.
Paytm QR, Money Transfer and Bill payments are said to be the most popular variants from these areas. The company had grown by 40 per cent in terms of coverage of locations.
According to the sources, the firm is expecting to bag greater acceptability among small merchants.
