The Bank launched this award to stimulate and promote literary works in Indian languages. Mr. Sanjiv Chadha, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Bank, announced the award’s launch today during a special session at the Jaipur Literature Festival.

The use of all Indian languages is crucial in a multilingual country like India since it adds to the nation’s diversity and rich legacy. All of the country’s languages play an important part in nation building and enriching the nation’s literary and cultural legacy. With this in mind, the ‘Bank of Baroda Rashtrabhasha Samman’ aspires to encourage mutual exchange among Indian languages and make the best Indian literature available to the entire audience in Hindi.
