Mumbai, August 19, 2026: IDFC FIRST Bank Limited, through its IFSC Banking Unit at GIFT City, has successfully priced and allocated its inaugural US$500 million three-year fixed-rate senior notes due 2029, marking the bank’s entry into the international debt capital markets.
The notes carry a fixed coupon of 5.625% and have been placed with investors outside the United States under the Regulation S format. The transaction follows the assignment of an investment-grade ‘BBB-’ long-term issuer credit rating with a Stable outlook by S&P Global Ratings on August 13, 2026.
The bond issuance attracted participation from leading global institutional investors, including BlackRock, Capital Group and AllianceBernstein, among others. Their participation reflects investor confidence in the bank’s financial position, growing franchise, risk management practices and long-term growth prospects.
Over recent years, IDFC FIRST Bank has focused on strengthening its balance sheet, expanding its granular retail deposit franchise, improving profitability and maintaining asset quality. The bank has also continued investments in technology, distribution and customer service.
The successful issuance is expected to diversify the bank’s funding sources and establish a new avenue for accessing international capital markets, supporting its long-term growth strategy.
Commenting on the transaction, Sudhanshu Jain, Chief Financial Officer & Head – Corporate Centre, IDFC FIRST Bank, said the inaugural issuance represents a landmark milestone for the bank. He noted that strong participation from leading global institutional investors, shortly after the investment-grade rating from S&P Global Ratings, reflects growing recognition of the bank’s franchise strength, balance-sheet resilience and progress over recent years.
