ITC’s rural hypermarket records 13% rise in digital transactions

In a bid to promote digital payments, ITC Ltd. has initiated e-payment solutions across its rural hypermarket chain.

The brand is offering a discount of one per cent on its products across Choupal Saagars, reported the Business Standard.

Post demonetisation, digital payments at Choupal Saagar, rose by 13 per cent from November 2016 till April this year.

“As a result, cashless transactions at Choupal Saagars increased from eight per cent to 21 per cent post demonetisation,” said ITC Ltd.

To promote digital payments, the company had sent 6 Lakh SMSes to its customer base on how its rural hypermarkets have geared up to promote digital payment.
