“The consumers can stick these magnets on their refrigerators at home and scan the QR codes to pay their bills instantly,” said an official.
Further, the QR code will re-direct the user to the current pending bill along with an option to pay via any digital mode active with the government agency, said the official.
Customers can conveniently make payments by scanning the QR codes with the assistance of their smartphones, the official at New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) said.
To offer this services, the civic body has joined hands with a Delhi-based retail tech startup called SignCatch and the Axis Bank. It will be distributing around 25,000 fridge magnets to its power and water consumers.
