Universal Sompo General Insurance Company has successfully launched end-to-end cashless claims transactions on the National Health Claims Exchange (NHCX) Platform. NHCX is a single-window interface that allows for the secure sharing of health insurance claims data. The platform is intended to improve efficiency and transparency in claims handling.
The NHCX platform functions as a single-window interface for the secure and efficient sharing of health insurance claims data. This platform is intended to streamline the claims process, allowing all parties, including payers, providers, beneficiaries, and other relevant institutions, to connect smoothly and quickly. The Health Claim sharing Specification is a structured communication framework for coordinating the sharing of health claim information among diverse stakeholders. This protocol is designed to be interoperable, machine-readable, auditable, and verifiable, ensuring that the information transferred is accurate and dependable.
The fundamental goals of the National Health Claim Exchange (NHCX) are to standardise health claims processes and facilitate smooth interaction across heterogeneous systems, hence improving overall system coherence and integration. Furthermore, the platform enables the totally electronic and efficient movement of data, documents, and photos between insurance companies or Third-Party Administrators (TPAs) and healthcare providers, eliminating paper-based processes and lowering administrative costs. The NHCX also enables the transmission of e-claims data over a single, standardised gateway that employs existing protocols such as Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), simplifying and unifying the data exchange process. The platform improves openness and efficiency in claims processing, resulting in faster turnaround times (TAT) and more effective and expedited claim resolution.
