Instant messenger brand WhatsApp is all set to allow Unified Payments Interface (UPI) option feature for its users from the next month.

With an active user base of more than one billion daily, WhatsApp is in talks with several Indian banks namely HDFC, State Bank of India, ICICI and Axis bank for initiating its UPI integrated services.

The feature is running in its beta stage in association with one of its partner banks and it is expected to roll out by the end of February.

Reportedly, the social messaging service has acquired not from the Centre for integrating with UPI in July 2017.

Post this integration, WhatsApp will join the league of already existing options such as Google’s Tez. Last year the brand claimed that it has more than 200 million active users in India.
