Marching in sync with “Digital India” initiative, Reliance Retail Ltd (RRL) is all set to promote the use of e-payments via its soon to be launched JioPhone.
Reportedly, the JioPhone pre-bookings is gaining tremendous popularity and has already touched six million bookings. As of now, RRL had to halt the further bookings.
“The bookings and interests from potential buyers came in from across the country, with equal participation from metros, smaller towns and rural areas. Orders could be placed through both online and offline modes, which also enabled people from remotest corners to place their orders,” said sources.
RRL is encouraging the use of digital payments in full swing via its handsets. It has laid a lot of emphasis on the popular mobile app Bharat Interface for Money (BHIM).
The JioPhones are expected to be delivered during the Navratri festival.
