Federal Bank renames Shyam Srinivasan as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer

Kerala based private sector lender Federal Bank has reappointed Shyam Srinivasan as its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer after receiving a go-ahead from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for a tenure of three years with effect from September 23, 2021, till September 22, 2024.

The bank in its regulatory filing stated that, “We wish to inform you that the approval from the Reserve Bank of India has been received on July 09, 2021, for the re-appointment of Mr. Shyam Srinivasan as the MD & CEO of the Bank for a period of three years with effect from September 23, 2021 till September 22, 2024.”

Srinivasan was first named as the Managing Director and CEO of the lender on September 23, 2010. He has now completed 10 years in the post due to multiple re-appointments.

He is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata, and Regional Engineering College, Tiruchirapally, and holds more than two decades of rich experience in leading multinational banks in India, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.

His areas of expertise include retail lending, wealth management, and small and medium enterprises (SME) banking.
