ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Reports 43.18% YoY Profit Growth in Q3 FY2025

ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company announced its Q3 FY2025 results on January 21, 2025, reporting a significant profit growth of 43.18% year-over-year (YoY), reaching ₹324.91 crore. Despite the profit surge, the company’s revenue dropped sharply by 82.82% YoY to ₹4,544.31 crore, marking an 81.94% decline compared to the previous quarter.

The insurer’s operating income showed remarkable improvement, increasing by 86.87% quarter-over-quarter (QoQ) and an impressive 140.99% YoY. This indicates stronger operational efficiency amid revenue challenges. Meanwhile, selling, general, and administrative expenses fell 7.78% QoQ but rose 9.96% YoY, reflecting a mixed performance in cost management.

The company also reported earnings per share (EPS) of ₹2.21 for Q3, a growth of 40.76% YoY. However, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance has faced stock performance challenges, with a -1.03% return in the last week, -0.45% over the past six months, and a -2.95% year-to-date (YTD) return.

As of January 22, 2025, the company’s market capitalization stood at ₹91,851.24 crore, with a 52-week high of ₹796.8 and a low of ₹475.2.

Among 31 analysts covering the stock, 11 rated it as a ‘Strong Buy,’ 6 as ‘Buy,’ 12 as ‘Hold,’ and 2 as ‘Sell,’ reflecting a consensus recommendation to ‘Buy.’ This highlights a broadly positive market sentiment despite the notable revenue decline.
