SBI unveils ‘Green Reward Points’ to promote sustainability

SBIPublic sector lender State Bank of India (SBI) has introduced a unique ‘Green Reward Points’ programme for its YONO customers. This initiative is unveiled to promote Sustainability, which has been the lenders’ one of the core values for the past few years. 

Under this initiative, SBI will inspire its customers to pledge earn ‘Green Reward Points’ to a pool created as ‘YONO SBI Green Fund’, managed by SBI Foundation.

Through ‘YONO SBI Green Fund’ the bank will introduce environment conservation activities.

SBI customer will now be able to earn ‘Green Reward points’  via  transactions on YONO and they would be granted with an option to pledge these points to ‘YONO SBI Green Fund’. 

Customers earning Reward points via non-YONO transaction channels like mobile & internet banking will be offered an option to convert it into ‘Green Reward points’ which on conversion can be pledged to the fund.

All the customers who will pledge their points to the fund will be honoured with a ‘Green e-Certificate’ as a token of appreciation towards their helping hand to the initiative.

Besides, the lender is also committed to convert lapsed ‘Green Reward Points’ of customers by communicating with them and informing them for environment conservation via  YONO SBI Green Fund.

SBI customers can earn upto 200 Green Reward points on each eligible service provided by the bank.

Speaking on this occasion, Rajnish Kumar, Chairman, SBI said, “With a pledge to conserve the environment, we invite all our customers to partner with us in promoting sustainability. The act to pledge, Green Reward points for YONO SBI Green Fund is a testimony to the commitment of our customers towards maintaining an ecological balance in the society. We would like to congratulate and appreciate our SBI patrons for joining us in the green journey”.

SBI is committed to use YONO SBI Green Fund for planting of trees, constructing of bio toilets, initiating “Conserve Water Campaign” along with setting up RO Plants in cities facing drinking water crisis, creating awareness about avoidance of single use plastic among customers and encourage usage of solar energy across the country.

To make this happened, the lender will proactively communicate with its customers using various channels of communication to come forward and pledge Green Reward points for the initiative.
