Vision 2020: ePaisa to introduce PAN India Payment acceptance of static QR code

In 2020, ePaisa would be introducing its static QR code for Payment acceptance across PAN India right from a Small Shop, Transport services, and Toll Collection Organisations. It will also be adding Micro ATM as a feature in ePaisa Software, says Pravinkumar Bhandari, Chief Business Officer, ePaisa, in an interaction with Elets News Network (ENN).

How significant is the role of Point of Sale in India’s digital payments market?

In India, Point Of Sale has become a key for Digital Transformation in the Retail sector. As per the recent Worldline report, the number of point of sale (POS) terminals increased to 3.99 million in June 2019 from 3.31 million in June 2018, an increase of 20.5 percent in India. There have been efforts made by POS solution providers to simplify the entire business cycle including the payments to increase the adaption percentage.

Currently, POS holds around 58 percent in Tier I Cities, but still, Cash Transaction marks on top in II, III and IV Cities. To make a reach to Semi and small business owners POS solution providers have included their offline business activities to Digital i.e. Manual Product Management to Inventory Management, Sales Analysis, Tagging Product using Barcodes. Digital Payments in India have drastically increased in the last 5 years i.e. Debit / Credit Card and QR Payment Option which in return increased retailer’s acceptance via Digital Mode.

How have you planned for 2020? What new innovations are in the pipeline?
