Arab National Bank Enhances IT Resiliency to Support Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030

Kyndryl and ANB

As part of Saudi Arabia’s ambitious Vision 2030 initiative aimed at diversifying the economy and embracing digital transformation, the Arab National Bank (ANB) has taken significant steps to enhance the resiliency of its IT infrastructure and applications.

Kyndryl in collaboration with ANB embarked on a strategic initiative to automate disaster recovery for its IT systems. The initial phase involved automating the switchover and recovery of less critical applications, ensuring each manual step was meticulously verified before automation. This careful approach has paid off, allowing ANB to automate switchovers and recoveries 80% faster for its mission-critical applications.

“With Kyndryl, we first automated switchover and recovery of less critical applications. It went slowly because we had to verify every manual step before attempting automation. Now, compared to when we began, we can automate switchovers and recoveries 80% faster on our mission-critical applications.” said Raed Aldawood, Head of Technology and Infrastructure Services at ANB.

The Saudi Central Bank’s stringent focus on service availability and swift response to critical incidents necessitated a robust disaster recovery solution. ANB’s new IT Disaster Recovery Orchestration and Automation solution, designed with Kyndryl, provides high visibility of disaster recovery performance through real-time dashboards and reporting. This system ensures compliance with regulatory requirements by delivering end-to-end orchestration and automation of disaster recovery across the full technology stack.

As Saudi Arabia continues its journey towards Vision 2030, Arab National Bank’s proactive steps in enhancing its IT infrastructure underscore its commitment to supporting the kingdom’s digital transformation goals, ensuring resilient and reliable banking services for all.
