Online Procedure:

Users who have an account with the Income Tax Department’s e-filing portal, can simply log in at the portal www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in. Go to the profile settings’ section and an option of linking the Aadhaar with PAN would be visible. Users will have to fill up the details and click on submit.

After filling up the details, users will be asked to verify the credentials and then they will receive a message that reads that the status of your request will be sent to your registered mobile number and e-mail ID.

Users, who don’t have an account registered at the e-filing portal, can easily create one by providing the basic details like PAN number, mobile number, e-mail address, address, among others.

One can also link both the cards without opening an account. Here’s how it can be done:

  1. Go to the www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in
  2. Click on ‘Link Aadhaar’
  3. Enter the Aadhaar number, PAN number and name as per Aadhaar, as soon as a pop-up window appears
  4. Enter captcha and click on ‘Link Aadhaar’.
  5. If the provided details match, the user will get the message “Aadhaar – PAN linking is completed successfully.”
