CIFDAQ, a leading blockchain ecosystem firm has named Muthuswamy Iyer as Chief Compliance Officer. Muthuswamy brings extensive experience in regulatory compliance and adherence to PMLA guidelines to his new position at CIFDAQ, having worked primarily in the securities market and Web3/blockchain sectors for over 25 years, including pivotal roles at WazirX, Edelweiss Broking Ltd, Karvy Stock Broking Ltd, Angel Broking Ltd, and National Stock Exchange of India Ltd.
In his previous role as Senior Director (Compliance) at WazirX, he oversaw the company’s regulatory compliance initiatives. Muthuswamy has held senior compliance positions at Edelweiss Broking Ltd, Karvy Stock Broking Ltd, and Angel Broking Ltd, where he created solid compliance systems for stock broking, wealth management, and depository services. His ability to ensure regulatory compliance while retaining operational efficiency has won him a reputation for integrity and diligence in the financial services sector.
Muthuswamy, as CCO of CIFDAQ, will oversee regulatory compliance and risk management, ensuring that the company meets global regulatory standards. He will also oversee CIFDAQ’s AML controls and communicate with regulatory agencies, building on his track record of developing and maintaining compliance cultures across various financial institutions.
