Liberty General Insurance, a leading non-life insurer in India, has reinforced its commitment to increasing insurance awareness and accessibility through its collaboration with Maruti Suzuki Insurance Broking Pvt Ltd. Under the ‘Bima Prachaar Aur Prasaar’ initiative, the two organizations are actively promoting financial literacy and emphasizing the importance of insurance protection across both urban and rural regions.
This initiative aligns with the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India’s (IRDAI) ‘Insurance for All by 2047’ vision. As the designated non-life insurer for Delhi, Liberty General Insurance is not only leading awareness programs in the capital but is also strengthening its outreach in Punjab’s Gram Panchayats, ensuring that insurance knowledge reaches underserved communities.
Recently, the initiative hosted a successful event in Tarn Taran, Punjab, drawing over 170 local residents. The program featured free vehicle inspections and eye check-ups, along with interactive sessions to educate attendees on the role of insurance in financial security. The enthusiastic participation underscored the growing awareness among rural communities about the benefits of insurance in mitigating risks and securing their future.
Speaking on the initiative, Anurag Rampal, Senior Vice President and National Head – Central Distribution and Marketing Team, Liberty General Insurance emphasized the importance of reaching underserved communities, stating: “Insurance is more than just a financial product—it is a safety net that protects individuals and families from unforeseen challenges. However, in many parts of the country, especially the hinterlands, awareness about insurance remains limited. Through initiatives like ‘Bima Prachaar Aur Prasaar’, and ‘Suraksha ka Vada, Bima ke Saath’, we are actively addressing this gap by engaging directly with communities, educating them, and making insurance more accessible. Partnering with Maruti Suzuki Insurance Broking allows us to extend our reach, ensuring that more people benefit from the protection that insurance offers. Our goal is to make Suraksha Ka Vada, Bima Ke Saath a reality for every household.”
This initiative is part of Liberty General Insurance’s broader strategy to support IRDAI’s rural and social sector mandates, which require insurers to underwrite policies for underserved communities. Beyond fulfilling regulatory obligations, Liberty remains dedicated to financial inclusion, ensuring that even those in remote areas have access to essential insurance products and information.
