PhonePe, the mobile payments app, has launched a firecracker insurance policy to offer comprehensive protection against firecracker-related accidents during Diwali. Priced at just Rs 9, the insurance plan provides coverage of up to Rs 25,000 for a period of 10 days, the company said on October 14.
The insurance plan is available nationwide, allowing users to celebrate Diwali with added security and financial protection against hospitalization and accidental death expenses due to firecracker mishaps. Coverage begins on October 25, and users can purchase the plan within a minute on the PhonePe app. Additionally, the policy covers up to four family members, including the user, their spouse, and up to two children.

This coverage offers essential protection for families, ensuring they can celebrate with peace of mind, free from concerns about accidents or unexpected financial strain,” said Vishal Gupta, CEO of PhonePe Insurance Broking Services.

Coverage will commence from the date of purchase for those purchasing the insurance after October 25.
