SentinelOne, a global leader in AI-powered security, has announced plans to acquire PingSafe, which would enhance its cloud security capabilities. SentinelOne’s existing cloud workload security and cloud data security capabilities will be supplemented by the acquisition of PingSafe’s cloud native application protection platform (CNAPP), resulting in a fully integrated platform designed to improve coverage, hygiene, and automation across a company’s entire cloud footprint.
The incorporation of PingSafe’s CNAPP into SentinelOne’s SingularityTM Platform represents a paradigm shift in cloud security, providing a single security platform with advanced, real-time, AI-powered security operations. This technique eliminates the requirement for multiple-point solutions by allowing comprehensive administration of the whole attack surface from a single platform.
Ric Smith, Chief Product and Technology Officer at SentinelOne, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating, “With the addition of PingSafe, we intend to redefine cloud security by fusing best-of-breed cloud workload protection, AI and analytics capabilities with a modern and comprehensive CNAPP. This new approach to cloud security will simplify management processes and provide real-time insights needed to detect and stop multi-stage attacks effectively.”
The acquisition aligns with SentinelOne’s strategy to expand its cloud security capabilities beyond workload security, aiming to transform security operations centers. Anand Prakash, founder and CEO of PingSafe and a prominent figure in the cybersecurity community, highlighted the potential of the combined capabilities, stating, “The combination of our cutting-edge CNAPP capabilities with SentinelOne’s market-leading AI security platform will supercharge cloud security by providing world-class protection for multi-cloud infrastructure.”
PingSafe’s CNAPP solution is noted for its dynamic, real-time monitoring of multi-cloud workloads, ease of setup and deployment, and low false positive rates, making it a favorite among companies such as Razorpay and Groww.
SentinelOne intends to use the purchase to provide additional capabilities such as secrets scanning of runtime and build-time environments and an attack surface management rules engine. These capabilities will complement CNAPP’s core products such as cloud security posture management, Kubernetes security posture management, agentless vulnerability scanning, and Infrastructure as code scanning.
