Global payments platform PayPal on Thursday appointed Anupam Pahuja as the Managing Director and Country Manager for its India operations. Pahuja has been with the company for over six years, heading technology for APAC, a PayPal statement said.
Pahuja will be responsible for all aspects of PayPal’s India business and further consolidation of the company’s India operations.
“India continues to be a key part of PayPal’s growth strategy. In India’s fast-growing e-commerce and payments market, we have enabled hundreds of thousands of small and medium businesses and entrepreneurs participate in the global economy,” Rohan Mahadevan, CEO, PayPal Asia Pacific remarked. With Pahuja’s elevation as the business leader of this market, PayPal will continue to strive to bring its global scale, experience and risk management platforms for safe and frictionless experiences to customers, he added.
Pahuja played an instrumental role in setting up PayPal’ technology centres in the country. Before joining PayPal, he was the Managing Director for India for NASDAQ-listed SumTotal Systems, the world’s largest eLearning company.
