The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has appointed S Ganesh Kumar as its new Executive Director (ED) post the voluntary retirement of Chandan Sinha.
As per the central bank’s notification, Kumar took charge from June 1.
As Executive Director, Kumar will be heading the departments of Information Technology, Payment and Settlement Systems and External Investments and Operations.
Prior to being promoted as ED, Ganesh Kumar was Chief General Manager-in-Charge, Department of Information Technology in RBI.
Kumar had joined the RBI in 1984 and has a career of central banker.
He has served in the areas of payment systems, supervision, foreign exchange, information technology and Government and Bank Accounts in the Bank.
